Student Teaching

I am now more than half way done with student teaching and it has been a rewarding experience thus far. I have learned so much and continue to learn each day. As I continue with student teaching I am eager to finish and become certified in hopes of obtaining a job teaching art to young students.

Saying Goodbye

This coming Friday I am going to have to say goodbye to my class that I have grown to love. We have shared so many memories as a class from September to August as a class we have gained and lost many classmates through transitions of moving up to other classes or moving away all in all they are still part of our class. Besides saying bye to my class I am saying bye to previous students who I have watched blossom from toddler to kid knowing that I've had the pleasure of being their first teacher and seeing where they are today is rewarding in its self. As I move into a new school it is nice to know that I will be seeing some familiar faces and have the pleasure of taking part in their first elementary school journey.

This is for them.

Thank you all. It is going to be hard saying Goodbye on Friday

Coming to an end

My time at the preschool Inspire Kids is coming to an end at the end of the month, it's been a great 2 1/2 years. But with every ending there's always a new beginning and I will be beginning mine at Bee Meadow Elementary school as a student teacher in September and couldn't be more excited to start this next chapter in my life in becoming a certified art teacher.

Here are some projects my class created throughout the year.
This was a painting relay the children all worked together to try to fill each paper with paint moving from station to station.

Preschool Projects

I am currently a preschool teacher teaching the young minds of 2 1/2 year olds to 3 1/2 year olds. This is what we have been creating this year so far.
The class participated in a lesson on Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are"each child got a chance to paint their own interpretation of the a Wild Thing using tempera paint, soap and water, and wet sponges in order to give it the drip effect.

This is something that the class has been working on since September. Each week the class was introduced to a new letter and turned it into something the letter represented in order to not only learn the sound and shape of the letter but something it stands for.
